With a gyro for stability and propeller guards as well as a reasonable flight time for a drone this small, the HS170 is a great drone for kids and beginners. If you’re buying a quadcopter for someone just starting out, then this should keep them entertained. Where others may break more easily after a crash, the propeller guards help keep the drone in the air rather than on the workbench!

Read my detailed review here. The DJI Mavic Platinum has now been released, but with very minimal upgrades from the Pro version. The Mavic Pro is definitely worth picking up, even at full price! With the new version now released, retailers are sure to reduce the Mavic and indeed, even DJI now has it available for a reduced price. This makes the Mavic an absolute steal, as it’s still considered by many the best all-round drone available.

These are one of the top picks in my Best FPV goggles roundup and with good reason! Not to be confused with the HD3, the V3 offer a number of the same features, but at reduced cost. The most significant change is that the Dominator V3s offer a 16:9 aspect ratio. This is great for HD content or when using a camera like the Runcam Eagle. As they are a couple of years old now, prices have already come down significantly. Goggle technology seems to have developed a lot slower than the rest of the drone market, so although two years may seem a while, the tech is comparable to this year’s new releases.
